Most anyone who has lived in a winter climate has been exposed to the informal pastime of snow tubing or snow sledding. If you are looking for an inexpensive alternative to give those sore ski legs a rest, try an afternoon of tubing. Or you may find that youngsters -- from toddler to teenager -- who delight in skiing all day long seem to always find energy for an evening sledding excursion. Ours always had that energy.
The Winter Park area has three several sledding alternatives and include a lift
served option. Two old time popular sledding locations on forest
service land have been recently closed and are no longer available. They

Zephyr Mountain Lodge Adjacent to the Discovery Center in the Plaza of the Zephyr Mountain Lodge is a small hill designed for adult supervised pre-teen tubers. The popular fire pit is just a few steps away. The spot is frequented after skiing and in the early evening hours. There is no charge. Bring your own tube. Or ask the Zephyr front desk if they have any to loan. Winter
