The top 10 reasons to Ski/Board at Winter Park are: 3. Un-crowded Slopes -- No Waiting
7. Terrain Parks 10. Colorado's Favorite can't be wrong
And then there are good reasons to select Zephyr Mountain Lodge for your stay. Our Zephyr Mountain Lodge web pages probably speak for themselves and should sell this property over other nearby accommodations. Or, if you'd prefer to go by the numbers then you are in good company indeed -- the Zephyr Mountain Lodge averages 10% to 20% higher occupancy than the Winter Park average. The principle reasons are

1. MOST SNOW
Just after the snow flies, Winter Park's upgraded fleet of snow cats
grooms plenty of choice terrain. Other runs are left in their natural
powder or mogul state. |
2. ECONOMICAL Day passes at many other Colorado ski areas are 10 to 20 percent more expensive than a Winter Park day pass. Similar pricing gaps exist with ski lessons, with dining, and with entertainment. What Winter Park foregoes in lavishness, it makes up in top skiing and friendly atmosphere. And top notch service remains -- just give the Zephyr Mountain Lodge a try. |
3. NO WAITING Since the 1980's Winter Park has been investing in high capacity high speed Quad Lifts. Now, with a total of 22 lifts -- 8 high speed express quads -- Winter park has an uphill capacity of over 35000 skiers per hour. Even busy Saturday's in March seldom have wait times longer than 10 minutes -- barely enough time to catch your breath. Midweek skiers usually slide right on the next chair -- not waiting at all. |

4. ZEPHYR MOUNTAIN LODGE Without a doubt Winter Park hosts one of Colorado's most prestigious base condo-hotels. Amenities are tops -- from heated underground parking to terry bathrobes for the Jacuzzi's to the daily concierge service. And there is no closer ski-in ski-out property anywhere. The slopes begin just outside this door.... |
5. EASY ACCESS FROM DENVER Winter Park is closer to Denver than any other ski resort with ski-in ski-out lodging. As a result you spend less time getting to Winter Park -- more than an hour less than Vail, and nearly two hours less than Steamboat. And these times can easily magnify 2Xif the weather is bad [or should we say the skiing is good]. Why spend your precious vacation time in Interstate traffic on snowbound roads. Instead, maximize your skiing. |

6. FAMILY SKIING Winter Park mountain is 60% beginner and intermediate skiing -- perfect for the family. Try the Vasquez, the Looking Glass, the Prospector, the Olympia, or the High Lonesome areas. Or cruise "Cramner" -- the most popular ski run in all America [based upon number of skiers since 1940]. Winter Park Resort is also renown for its children's programs including daycare, ski instruction, racing, and just all around fun. Note: most expert skiing is at the Mary Jane Complex of Winter Park Resort. |
7. TERRAIN PARKS Winter Park has expanded its specially groomed areas in response to requests from snowboarding visitors. New for 2002/3 is the Rail Yard Terrain Park and Vertigo Half Pipe. At nearly 3500 feet long, Rail Yard is one of the longest Terrain Parks in all of Colorado. Offering something for everyone, the Rail Yard Park starts out with a bunch of rails, hits and jumps perfect for first-timers and seasoned pros perfecting their newest moves. After that, it's onto a roller coaster of lifts and dips. And to make sure everyone gets the full exposure they deserve, the new Vertigo Half Pipe and Lower Rail Yard are right in plain view of lift riders as well as the beach crowd at Snoasis. Note: all terrain parks are shared by skiers and snowboarders alike. |
8. MOGULS AND BUMPS Mary Jane [as well as a very few runs at Winter Park] are nationally know for their moguls. In fact, this year Snow Country magazine named Mary Jane one of the Top 5 Resorts in North America for Bump Skiing. Long, unrelenting mogul runs and steep, technical chutes highlight this paradise of advanced terrain. Just one date with Mary Jane and you'll see why a favorite saying among locals is "No Pain, No Jane." You can delight to runs such as 'Outhouse', 'Phantom Bridge', 'Golden Spike', 'RifleSight Notch', and the 'Chutes'. |

9.
ALPINE EXPERIENCE Parsenn Bowl is a wide-open, high-alpine bowl that first opened in 1992 and has become a favorite attraction at Winter Park Resort. With a top elevation of 12,060', you really get to experience high-altitude skiing at its best. The views are just about perfect and the terrain is ideal for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders. Hint: Parsenn Bowl is nirvana on a powder day. The Cirque is 435 acres of prime, off-piste terrain that features a mix of cornices, rock outcroppings, steeps and glades. It is a 6 mile round trip experience for the best of skiers. Note: this is for the extreme backcountry adventurer. conditions are vastly different from other parts of the mountain. Ski, board or telemark within your ability. |

10. COLORADO'S FAVORITE Back in the 1970's Winter Park earned the nickname "Colorado's Favorite". So it should be no surprise that more skiers and riders with Colorado zip codes choose Winter Park/Mary Jane than any other ski mountain. Surely all those locals can't be wrong. |
By now, you should be convinced that Winter Park is THE place for your
next skiing or riding vacation. If by some chance,
you're not yet convinced, then
and we'll be happy to answer additional questions [by
