LOCAL PHONE
In 2011, we have discontinued the phone service in the condo. Nobody was
using the land line. And we were getting complaints about charity and
political and unscrupulous solicitors from our guests. Everybody travels
with a cell phone these days. So please bring yours with you to Kauai.
If your cell phone is not with a US Carrier, you'll be pleased to know that you
can cut down your roaming charges by using the wireless at the Cliffs to make
VOIP or Skype phone calls. Be sure to install the application before
you leave your home country. You'll get best signal if you make such
calls from the master bedroom or from the upstairs bedroom.
FAX & PHONE at CLIFFS
The fax at the Cliffs at Princeville is available for use. The number is
+1-808-826-2140. They do not deliver the faxes to individual condos.
You must pick up at the front desk. The Cliffs Resort front desk
phone number is 1-808-826-6219.

BEACH ACCESSORIES
We have found it impractical to assure that there are beach chairs and
towels and coolers. They disappear, break, and wear out too quickly.
However, our guests sometimes buy these items and leave for others. As of
October 2011 there were

2 beach mats
1 pool noodles
1 pair of swim fins
1 kids mask and snorkel sets
various plastic buckets and sand shovels.

Thank you to those who bought them.. Should you not find what you are looking
for nor wish to travel with your personal items, we suggest K-Mart or Costco or Wal-Mart in
Lihue.
AIR CONDITIONING
Every season the someone asks if Cliffs Condos are Air Conditioned. They
are NOT. There are wonderful sea breezes on the North Shore. #9302's
proximity to the ocean and large sliding patio doors on both ends of the Condo
assure good ventilation. In the rare event of a still night there are
ceiling fans in the living and sleeping areas that provide fresh air. With
windows open, once can hear the sounds of the surf in the evening and birds in
the morning.
On one trip to Kauai, we stayed in a air conditioned hotel room. It was
quite uncomfortable and we would up turning the system off and opening the
windows.
WEATHER
It can be rainy or sunny any season. Even guests who visit during the
rainy months report long periods of sunshine. And if it's raining in
Princeville, just travel to the South -- or vice versa.

The interior of condo 9302 is regularly updated and upgraded --
an item or two at a time. This regular upkeep has occurred on these

INTERNET ACCESS
If you bring a laptop or smartphone,
there is a wifi service provided by the Cliffs Resort. Go to the Front Desk
show them your rental receipt and get the logon codes:

You must logon to the Cliffs internet before you can use it – smart phones
included. Open a browser and attempt to browse to any web page. You’ll be
presented with a logon page. Enter Username and Password. There is a
free help desk if you have trouble connecting.
The wireless antenna is in the parking lot area at the
front of building 9. We surveyed signal strength in condo 9302 using our laptop
and found that the wifi works quite well from the desk upstairs and from the
master bedroom. The signal was marginal in the living room. And the signal is
unusable at the dining room table. When using our smart phone, we got the most
reliable results from the master bedroom.
LATE
CHECKOUT
Many guests depart Kauai on a 9PM or 10PM United Airlines flight direct to LAX
or SFO. Having a place to shower and cleanup after a fun-filled day
in Kauai is desired. A late checkout [up till 7PM] can be arranged for an
additional fee. This fee is required because the condo cannot be
cleaned and made ready for the next guest until the following night.
MANAGEMENT
COMPANY
The on-island property contact is Deborah Jameson.
CLEANING
Deborah generally takes care of the cleaning of this unit. We think she does
an excellent job and if you agree, kindly show her your appreciation.
Extra cleanings [for extra service charge] can be arranged by calling Deborah at
826-6607 [local call from the Condo].
RULES OF THE HOUSE
You are in a privately owned home. Please treat it with respect and leave
in top condition.
1. Sorry, No Pets, No Smoking
2. Please remove shoes before entering -- there is a lot of red dirt and sand
that is very difficult to clean from carpets.
3. Be certain the front door locks behind you. Kauai has experienced some
break-ins. We cannot be held responsible for any losses.
4. Keep screens closed to keep bugs and birds – yes birds – out of the condo.
5. Keep noise to a minimum after 10PM. Windows are often open and those in
adjacent units are easily disturbed,
6. Conserve electricity by turning off all unused fans and lights. Hawaii has
the highest rates of all 50 states.
7. Please don't change the settings in the refrigerator.
8. Don't feed any stray cats you may see at the Cliffs Resort. They carry
fleas and annoy many of the guests.
9. Take your trash out regularly to the dumpsters. Avoid attracting bugs.
10. Quickly clean up all food spills to discourage ants, roaches, and bugs.
11. Store food in closed containers to prevent bugs.
12. Avoid letting the bedroom drapes thrash
around in the wind by always opening the drapes 6 inches wider than the sliding
glass door.
BEFORE CHECKOUT
1. Please take a moment and sign our guest book
2. Wash all dirty dishes and return to cupboards
3. Turn off all lights
4. Leave used bed linens and towels in place. The cleaning crew
will wash
5. Leave Key in condo. If used, return
key to Lock Box. Lock front door. Leave sliding doors open 6 in.
7. Take garbage to dumpsters
8. Send us an email of any broken, damaged, or lost items along with any ideas
for improving the property.
RENTAL TERMS
The following terms will appear on your rental contract.
1 - No Pets / No Smoking
2 - Cancellation fee is $75 if made with 60 days or more notice.
- Deposit is forfeited if cancellation is with less than 60 days notice.
- No refunds for cancellations with less than 30 day notice.
3 – Check in time is 4PM; Check out time is 10AM.
4 – Renter agrees to pay for excessive repairs caused by harsh use caused by
renter or renter's guests.
5 – In the event of physical damage to condo #9302, owner may cancel this
agreement and return monies paid or may substitute equivalent accommodations for
renter’s use.
6 - Any contract disputes will be litigated in the State of Colorado.
