KAUAI INFORMATION FOR CONDO RENTERS

This information is compiled to assist guests who rent our Condo at the Cliffs Resort.  If you've arrived at this page as a result of a web search on Kauai Romance, Weddings, or Honeymoon, we hope you benefit from the information.  And if you need lodging, thank you for considering us.

Hawaii is the number one dream destination for lovers the whole world over.  You could be strolling together by the light of mystic lanterns and torches, the glow of an orange moon on your glistening white beach.  or perhaps you might be riding horseback through sparkling surf, with the palms swaying in the balmy breeze.  or maybe it's the hula dancers that are swaying under a banyan tree to the serenade of steel guitars and ukuleles.  Or maybe it's a once-in-a-lifetime kiss, intoxicated by the scents of plumeria and night-blooming jasmine.

Most resorts gladly accommodate wedding parties, several have wedding chapels set in ideal locations.  Wedding planners on the island can also plan your big day in advance by providing everything from a minister to a maile lei.  Many couples combine both wedding and honeymoon on Kauai. This is very easy as there are no residency or citizenship requirements.  All you need to do is bring a health certificate from home including blood tests for both of you, and a rubella test for the bride.

A number of ministers perform weddings, many at incredible locations, sometimes so remote that they can only be reached by helicopter.  There are dozens of outfits that will help you plan.  One of our guests used Michael Merle Jones of Island Weddings and highly recommended him.  Some other planners  to contact  include:

Hanalei Cafe restaurant at the Princeville Hotel ranks as one of the most romantic spots in the entire world for dinner.  Time your arrival 45 to 60 minutes before sunset and grab one of the outside tables.  The views across Hanalei Bay and of Bali Hai in the distance are unparalleled.  The food is excellent.

Queens Bath is a natural swimming pool made from Lava Rocks below the Princeville Resort.  Follow a map and signs to the parking lot.  Hike 180 vertical feet down to the ocean.  Arrive early in the morning and you may be the only ones.

Try a SPA.  The Princeville Hotel [808-826-5030] and the Hyatt Regency [Poipu] [808-742-1234] and The Kauai Lagoons Resort [808-245-3323] all offer upscale spa facilities.

Tour a Garden.   Visit Limahuli Garden and Preserve -- consistently voted the number one Botanical Garden in the whole US [808-826-1053].    Or visit the grounds at Kilohana and reminisce about Hawaii a century ago [808-245-5608]  You might want to arrive at Kilohana for tea at Gaylords.    More Gardens.

Hike to Kalalau.  You have to be in top shape for this 24 mile backpacking round trip.  But once you've arrived at this sacred place, you'll understand why there is no other place on earth to compare.

Watch a Sunset [or Sunrise].  You can do this right from the Cliffs Resort in Princeville.

Skinny Dip at a Beach.   With 20 beaches along the North Shore there are plenty of places where you can sneak away.

Rent a Harley or Sports Car.  Satisfy that lust for excitement and share with your favorite mate.
