GOLFING -- Right in Princeville , Robert Trent
Jones, Jr. designed 45 of the most beautiful, tropical holes of golf
in the world. They range along green bluffs that skirt mountains and
the bluest ocean, offering stunning views everywhere you look.
The
Prince Course has been rated: The

TENNIS -- The Cliffs Resort includes 4
tennis courts for the enjoyment of guests. These excellent condition
hard courts are rarely all in use, so you can be assured of the
opportunity to play at your favorite time of the day. Naturally,
mornings afford the coolest temperatures and calmest winds. Bring your racquet and play tennis in one of the prettiest surroundings in the world. More tennis information -- rentals, clinics, round robbins, etc -- can be obtained by calling the Princeville Tennis Garden at 808-826-3620. |

RELAXING -- Vacationing and Relaxing go together. Many
a guest passes an idyllic afternoon relaxed on their private lanai --
reading a good book with ocean sounds 200 feet below and sipping their
favorite cold beverage. Between January and March whales make
their annual journey to the Artic and can be seen frolicking a half mile
offshore. Bring your binoculars. The Cliffs Resort
includes a swimming pool -- a favorite way to entertain kids while you
enjoy that good book. Or later in the day, join other guests in the
Cliffs own Jacuzzi and meet some new faces and learn about new places.
The Cliffs also has an Activity Center Clubhouse for your gaming and
socializing enjoyment. Most evenings there is an informal "sunset watching" on the lawn behind buildings 8 and 9. You can join the other guests down on the lawn, or enjoy an even better view from your own private lanai 20 feet above the ground. Another popular pastime at the Cliffs is preparing your evening feast at the Barbeque Grills. Relax by the Gazebo and visit with other guests as your dinner simmers to perfection. Or, you may wish to unwind at the putting green behind buildings 2 and 3. Sharpen your game at the same time. The "beach" is a most popular place to relax. The wonderful sandy beaches at the resorts on Hanalei Bay are just a 10 minute walk. There are many more opportunities for relaxing around Kauai -- shopping, dining, sightseeing, tours, just to name a few. Visit our Kauai web pages for more information. |

EXPLORING -- Kauai is a fascinating island, and the north
shore around the Cliffs Resort is no exception. Enjoy
walking/jogging, secluded beaches, waterfalls, a sea cave, an
extensive reef, and all the local flora and fauna.
Within the Princeville's 15 square miles is a extensive network of pathways suitable for walking and jogging. Many parallel the golf course. Be sure to give consideration to the players. A 10 minute walk will bring you to a secluded beach reached by a breathtaking path that hugs the 200 foot volcanic cliff. Another 10 minute walk will bring you to Queens Bath where you can swim in a 50 foot tide pool. If you are adventuresome, strong, and surefooted, you can find the old path [presently closed -- use at your own risk] near the Gazebo at the Cliffs Resort and make your way to the ocean's edge. There's a small waterfall, and a large sea cave is about 300 yards to the west. The going is quite strenuous over wave carved lava rock. All along the ocean's edge you will find an extensive reef system. When the tide is at its very lowest, one can walk a few dozen yards feet from shore. When the tide is high, it is possible to snorkel and or kayak over this same reef. No matter where you are in the Cliffs Resort or Princeville Area you will find native plants and animals. The flowers, plants, and fruit will treat you to a real tropical experience. Birds abound -- from lovely white egrets to the protected albatross species. |
