KAUAI INFORMATION FOR CONDO RENTERS

This information is compiled to assist guests who rent our Condo at the Cliffs Resort.  If you've arrived at this page as a result of a web search on Kauai Bicycle, we hope you benefit from the information.  And if you need lodging, thank you for considering us.

MOTORCYCLISTS: Note:  If you thought biking meant motorcycles, fear not.  There is a company that rents Harley's: Ray's Motorcycle Rental at 808 822-4644 from $125-$200 per day .  Make certain to have a motorcycle endorsement on your Drivers License.

Others prefer to coast down Kauai's most popular bike itinery.  Descend 12 miles from the rim of the colorful Waimea Canyon to the coast of the deep blue Pacific Ocean.  Guided tours start at all times, including a sunrise tour where you watch the sun come up over Waimea canyon and a sunset tour where you watch the forbidden island of Niihau swallow the setting sun. 

Another popular biking tour takes you on an old cane road through a former sugar plantation, rain forests, and scenic vistas to Hawaii's first sugar mill.  Ride on to Mahaulepa Beach where you enjoy a picnic lunch and watch for sea turtles.  This tour is on level ground the whole way. 

The back roads of Kauai are home to some excellent mountain biking.  You get to see far more of rural Hawaii than is possible in your rental car.  Mountain biking requires some level of fitness and biking skill.

Others may wish to 'do it yourself'.  An excellent place is the general Poipu area which has wide, flat roads and several dirt-sugar cane roads.  On the north shore, the cane road between Kealia Beach and Anahola is excellent.

Choose from cruisers, tandems, and mountain bikes.  Enjoy scenic rides in quaint Hanalei town and all along Kauai's beautiful north shore.  The mountain bikes are excellent Kona brand with Shimano components and front suspension.  Knowledgeable enthusiasts can tell you the best spots on the island.  Scooters also available.

This tour incorporates biking and hiking into a 4 1/2 hour experience.  The entire journey takes place on the private estate of the Grove Farm.  Once a large sugar plantation, your tour will now take you through several cattle ranches, forests, and coffee and papaya fields.  Along the way, you will see many spectacular vistas.  Enjoy a picnic lunch with a swim on a white sandy beach.   At the end of the trek, you will tour the historic Kola Sugar mill.  Your guides will share their knowledge of Kauai during this adventure.

At Kipu Ranch, you may rent ATV's or bicycles to tour a once sugar plantation, now private cattle ranch.  Ride through mountain trails, tropical forests, river valleys, and rolling pastures.  Kipu Ranch's diverse landscape has been a favorite filming location for "Raiders of the Lost Ark", "Mighty Joe Young", " Outbreak", and "Lost World".
